Enbridge Heat Pump Rebates
Installing a heat pump doesn’t have to be so expensive. There are a variety of rebates and programs available that can help reduce the upfront cost of the installation of a heat pump in your home. You can save on installing your heat pump by taking advantage of grants and rebates from the Canadian government and Enbridge Gas.
Save Up to $3,000 on Air-Source Heat Pumps with the Enbridge Home Efficiency Rebate (HER)
We’re thrilled to announce that the Enbridge Home Efficiency Rebate (HER) program is back! You could qualify for up to $3,000 in rebates on eligible air-source heat pump systems.
Qualifying Rebates:
- Ground Source Heat Pumps: Up to $3,000
- Air Source Heat Pumps: Up to $2,000
- Heat Pump Water Heater: Up to $500
Each home is eligible for a maximum rebate of $5,000 across all qualifying upgrades. An energy assessment, costing up to $600, is required to validate your project and claim your rebate. Please note that rebates apply only to approved equipment as listed by Natural Resources Canada.
How to Take Advantage of Enbridge Heat Pump Rebates
Schedule an initial home energy assessment
Before you install any upgrades, contact an Enbridge Gas approved service organization. From there, a registered energy advisor will evaluate your home and provide you with recommended upgrades.
Receive the list of recommended upgrades
After your home assessment is completed, the registered energy advisor will provide a tailored report with all the recommended, energy-saving upgrades for your home.
Complete AT LEAST two qualifying upgrades
Schedule an appointment with your trusted contractor to install your upgrades. A minimum of two qualifying upgrades is required.
Complete your follow-up assessment
Once your upgrades have been installed, you can book your second assessment, which takes about an hour. Your follow-up assessment MUST take place within 120 days after your initial energy assessment, or by Dec 31, 2025.
Receive your energy-saving rebates
Rebate cheques will be awarded starting January 2025. Along with a $600 cheque for the cost of the initial and follow-up assessments.
Enjoy the comfort of your new heat pump
Experience year-round comfort, quiet operation, and energy savings with your new heat pump system.
Why Heat Pumps?
Heat pumps are rapidly becoming the preferred choice for home heating. And for good reason. These innovative systems can be highly energy efficient in comparison to conventional furnaces and baseboard heaters. Unlike traditional heating, heat pumps simply move heat rather than creating it, significantly reducing carbon emissions.
Widespread heat pump adoption could cut global CO2 emissions by a staggering 500 million tonnes by 2030. By switching to a heat pump, you’re not only reducing your carbon footprint, but you also have the opportunity to save big with available rebates.
Consider Upgrading to a Hybrid Heating System
Experience ultimate comfort and efficiency with a hybrid heating system. Combining a heat pump with a gas furnace, this dual fuel system intelligently switches between the two based on outdoor temperatures and energy costs. Enjoy the best of both worlds: the energy efficiency of a heat pump and the reliable warmth of a gas furnace.
Why Choose Hybrid Heating Over Air Conditioning?
- Heat Pumps Function like an Air Conditioner: Heat pumps don’t just heat, they also effectively cool your home.
- Space Saving Design: Depending on the model, heat pumps can take up less space than an AC system.
- Reduced Carbon Footprint: Unlike traditional systems, heat pumps don’t burn fuel to produce heat. Instead, they simply move heat from one place to another, powered entirely by electricity.
- Heating Needs: Heat pumps heat your home efficiently and can be used as a supplemental heat source in your cottage, basement, attic, or home.
- Evolving Technology: Heat pumps have a long history of use, and their technology continues to advance significantly.
- Versatile Models: There are many options for ducted or ductless heat pumps, meaning even without ductwork you have options.
- Rebates: Since heat pumps can be highly energy efficient and reduce carbon emissions, the government and Enbridge Gas have rebates and grants to help Canadians switch to one.
Why You Need a Heat Pump Specialist
Heat pumps are versatile systems that can greatly enhance your home comfort, but for them to function safely and optimally, they must be installed by a licensed technician. These systems have intricate inner workings that require specialized knowledge to install correctly.
A qualified technician ensures accurate sizing for your home, proper installation for maximum efficiency and longevity, and optimal airflow for even heating and cooling. They also provide precise calibration and expert service for a smooth installation process, along with ongoing maintenance to keep your system running reliably long-term.
