Delta Air Systems Are Your Ducted Heat Pump Experts!

There are a number of different Heat Pump heating system options available for your home. While many people are familiar with forced air furnace systems, many homeowners don’t realize the benefits of an air source heat pump (ASHP). These systems can decrease your heating costs and carbon footprint and help keep your home comfortable all year long.

Air Source Heat Pump 101

An air source heat pump works by using the same process your air conditioner uses, but in reverse, to create heat. The technology has been around and used for decades. Only now, advances in design have made them more efficient than ever. The same heat pump will also cool your home in summer

Ducted and Ductless Heat Pumps

An air source heat pump can be installed in a new home construction or replace an existing HVAC system and is available in a ducted or ductless option.

Ducted Heat Pump

If your home already has ductwork in place, a ducted ASHP can be installed to replace a central air conditioner system. An outside unit is connected to an indoor coil that is mounted in your furnace plenum where warm (or cool) air is distributed throughout your home via ducts.

Ductless Heat Pump

Also known as a ductless mini-split heat pump, this system doesn’t require ductwork to deliver warm or cool air. Instead, a mounted air handler is installed within your home. Multiple interior air handler units can be installed to provide zoned heating and cooling throughout the home.

Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pump

Advances in technology have made air source heat pumps a viable option in the Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph areas—where the temperatures can drastically drop in the winter. Cold climate heat pumps are systems that are specially equipped to work more efficiently in temperatures reaching as low as -25༠ C.

Daikin Ducted Heat Pumps

Don’t let the name fool you. A heat pump, when matched with an air handler, is an excellent alternative for both heating and cooling your home. Just think of a heat pump as a heat transporter, extracting warmth from the air in your home during the summer, and reversing operation to bring warmth to the air in during the winter. Though it may be difficult to believe there’s enough warmth in outdoor air during the winter to heat your home.

Lennox Ducted Heat Pumps

Lennox® heat pumps are some of the most precise and efficient you can buy. Delivering effective temperature and humidity control, and efficient energy usage, Lennox heat pumps keep your home’s temperature exactly where you want it. The units work like an all-in-one cooling and heating system, and are perfectly suited to warmer climates. During summer months, the heat pump works like an air conditioner, extracting heat from inside your home and moving it outdoors. When the weather turns cooler, the process is reversed as the unit collects heat from the air outside and transfers it inside. Extremely quiet and exceptionally efficient, Lennox heat pumps deliver industry-leading efficiencies of up to 23.50 SEER and 10.20 HSPF, which can help save you hundreds of dollars every year in utility costs. For maximum flexibility and energy savings, single fuel and dual fuel models are available. Dual fuel models need to be installed with a compatible furnace, creating a system that can automatically switch back and forth between electricity and gas, based on whichever is most cost-efficient in your area.
