New Year’s Eve is only a few days away and many people are getting ready to host family and friends to ring in the new year. If you’re having people over to your home to celebrate, remember that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have a fabulous time.
Reuse Holiday Decorations
You can repurpose holiday decorations—especially lights—for your New Year’s Eve party. If you want, you can just remove the green garland and red ornaments and highlight gold or silver ornaments with any twinkly lights you have up.
Make it a Potluck
Ask everyone that’s coming to bring something to share. If you have a plan ahead of time, you can coordinate food and drinks so there’s a cohesive menu that everyone will enjoy. It’ll take the stress off of you as a host and allow everyone to have a good time.
Have a Post Midnight Plan
Many people enjoy a drink or two on New Year’s Eve. Make sure that you and your guests have a plan to get home safely at the end of the night. Encourage people to travel together and split on a cab or Uber at the end of the night. Also, make sure you have extra blankets and pillows on hand in case a guest or two need to spend the night.
