What’s the first sign of winter for you?
For us, it’s not the temperature or snow, it’s the humidity. There’s a certain turning point every year where every time you wake up in the morning your mouth is drier, your lips and skin feel tighter and generally, everything feels a little more uncomfortable. That problem only becomes worse the closer we get to the heart of winter.
As the air gets colder, it holds less and less moisture. On top of that, your furnace will be running more often, and it can use up some of the moisture in your air in the process of heating your home, making it even drier inside that out. This quality of air can also be harmful to your health. Low humidity can cause dry skin and nasal passages, cause static electricity, damage your woodwork and more.
Luckily, there are solutions available – better ones than re-applying lip balm every 30 minutes.
Below are two products offered by Delta that will keep your home at a comfortable humidity until summer rolls around again.
Heat Recovery Ventilators/Energy Recovery Ventilators
HRVs and ERVs are used to exchange stale air from inside your home with the air from outside; which is much fresher, provides your house with ventilation, and can help reduce high humidity levels within your home.
Whole-Home Humidifiers
Whole-home humidifiers are a type of humidifier that attaches directly to your furnace. They offer a consistent humidity to your whole home directly from the source of your forced air system.
They’re more efficient and more effective than portable humidifiers, so you and your family will be healthier and more comfortable all winter long.
